When working on these large drawings I run down a couple of new pencils to little stubs which means I have put quite a few pencil miles into each piece!

Powerhouse of the Pride'
Graphite on Arches aquarelle, 56 x 76cm
My daughter and I had an amazing safari in Zimbabwe a few years ago, and one of the many highlights was spending time with this pride of lions. They had made a kill overnight, and we watched as the youngsters playfully burned off some energy in the freshness of the morning. These three lionesses then moved to some shade to relax but remained alert on the slope of a termite mound.

'The Warmth of Motherhood' SOLD
Coloured pencil on Arches aquarelle
One of the most magical moments from my last safari was when a group of five lionesses returned from a hunting trip early in the morning to their waiting cubs. The cubs were delighted to see their mothers return after being left alone for more than a day and this little fellow couldn’t wait to snuggle into his mum.
"The Protector'

Meet Kate!
Kate Jenvey
Animal Artist and Tutor
Let's introduce Kate and her team! That's right, Kate's two off-siders are Teddy (lapping it up) and Gus (big and beautiful).
How does that work?
In Kates's words:"My two trusty companions keep me grounded and I try to follow their philosophy on life.
That is:
*they have unconditional love for me and are always happy to see me even when I'm late home
*they live in the moment
*they are loyal and trustworthy
*they keep me fit, we love our morning walk
*they stretch first thing in the morning 😂
These are great guidelines to live life by and I apply them to my business as well."
