Society of Animal Artists, Houston, Texas
My trip to the States this year in September was highly rewarding and inspirational on many levels. It began as usual in Jackson Hole, Wyoming where I caught the tail end of the Fall Arts Festival. I will never tire of exploring the galleries to see the new work of some of the United States best wildlife and western artists, to visit the National Museum of Wildlife Art, watch the Quick Draw and generally get an overload of amazing art! An added bonus is always to catch up with old friends who are also in JH for the same reasons. Five days in Yellowstone with my lovely friend Meredith brought about some wonderful sightings of wildlife and as always it is so refreshing and stimulating with its outstanding scenery and grandness. From there I flew to Houston, Texas to attend the annual exhibition of The Society of Animal Artists which was hung in the wonderful Houston Museum of Natural Science. It is such an honour to have my work in such a prestigious event and be amongst some of the worlds foremost wildlife artists. I am so impressed with this Society and all the volunteer hours that are put in to make it work so well for us artists, it was a fabulous, educating and fun weekend!
