Native birds

Our native Australian birds come in all shapes and sizes and it is such a joy to see the variety that abounds on my rural block. I have kept a list of the birds that are regulars and those that are transient and I am up to 46 species! Quite a nice collection that passes through. One of my favourites though is a little brown job called a scrub wren. If I sit really still out in my garden, he comes very close to investigate and is quite happy to be within a few feet of me. This is an adorable little bird and was a perfect subject on this old wire gate. Fresh off the drawing board is "The Old Gate"
