I Won First Prize!
Bright Autumn Art Show – Monochrome Section
I'm thrilled to share some exciting news with you — my graphite drawing “A Thirst for Life" has won First Prize in the Monochrome Section at this year’s Bright Autumn Art Show!

The judge's comment truly made my day:
"A masterful use of graphite. I could almost feel the lion's fur.”
As someone who adores the subtleties of monochrome work, this feedback means the world to me. Graphite is such a beautiful and expressive medium — soft, strong, and capable of incredible depth. To have this recognised in a public exhibition is both humbling and energising.

This piece was a labour of love — capturing the quiet, intimate moment of a lion pausing to drink under the early morning African sun after a successful night of hunting. I wanted to convey not just the realism of the scene, but also the texture, tension, and stillness of that moment. A moment captured in time.

If you're in the area, the show runs until May 11th with a stunning range of works from many talented artists — worth a visit if you love seeing how art captures the spirit of the exhibiting artists.
As a bonus, I am delighted that this drawing has also found it's forever home. I will miss this piece but find it heart-warming that someone else loves it as much as I do!
Thank you to everyone who's been part of my artistic journey so far. I can't wait to keep sharing more with you — and inspiring others to explore the power of pencil and passion.
